On March 31, 2017, the IMPACT TB Consortium conducted a workshop with the Vietnam National Tuberculosis Program.

The IMPACT TB Consortium organized a workshop with the Vietnam National Tuberculosis Center on 31 March 2017 entitled IMPACT TB Consultation Meeting of Stakeholders in the Vietnam National Tuberculosis Center and Active Disease Detection Policy in Vietnam: Successes, Challenges and Research Priorities. The meeting was chaired by Professor Nguyen Viet Nung and Professor Nat Lönnroth.
This workshop provided information on one of our main objectives (we are working in close partnership with the National Tuberculosis Centre of Vietnam) and to engage all stakeholders throughout the project period to work towards the END TB strategy in Vietnam. Delegates discussed the current status of active disease detection and the comprehensive care model in Vietnam, the global evidence base and research priorities. In the afternoon session, participants were divided into small groups to discuss in detail future research priorities and develop a research agenda.
Vietnam is a pioneer country in the fight against TB. Under the leadership of Professor Nguyen Viet Ngoc, the National Tuberculosis Programme aims to rapidly reduce the incidence of TB through the VICTORY Network. The research conducted by the IMPACT project in this workshop is aligned with the broader research agenda of the VICTORY Network and is Vietnam will contribute to the pioneering activities.
