‘IT’S TIME!’ – IMPACT TB holds events in Nepal and Vietnam for World TB Day 2019

IMPACT TB teams in Vietnam and Nepal organised community events as part of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on 24^th March 2019 to support the WHO’s mission to raise awareness of the disease and help promote an end to the stigma and discrimination. The theme for this year is: ‘It’s time’.

BNMT and IMPACT TB joined the National TB Centre in Nepal in hosting a World TB Day event in Kathmandu. We distributed T-shirts with the slogan ‘End TB’ and displayed placards with information on how people can help prevent the spread of TB. BNMT also held various events in IMPACT TB project districts that were featured in local newspapers. Local artists such as Bhumiswar Sharma and Bijay Datta wrote songs and created amazing artwork to help us raise awareness.

In Vietnam, site coordinators gave presentations at local schools and held picture competitions among school students to give ‘Get Well Soon’ messages to patients.
