First national TB prevalence survey in Nepal publishedPosted on: May 13, 2020
The first ever national TB prevalence survey in Nepal has revealed a very high burden of TB. The new estimates are 245/100,000 for incidence and 416/100,000 for prevalence.
A staggering 40,000 TB cases go undiagnosed or unnotified every year in Nepal. This underlines the inadequacy of the current TB response and the urgency of improving the TB diagnostic, treatment and care services in Nepal. We urge all partners to work together for a TB free future in Nepal.
