BNMT marks World TB Day 2022 with public engagement activities in Nepal

BNMT in Nepal has used World TB Day to raise awareness of the disease by holding numerous events across Nepal. The slogan for World TB Day 2022, held on Thursday 24th March, is ‘Invest to End TB, Save Lives’, which reiterates the need to increase funding to prevent, diagnose and treat TB. Without substantial investments that will accelerate collective efforts of the community, country and the world, it is unlikely we will win the fight against TB, reverse the huge setback caused by the pandemic or save lives. Therefore, staff at BNMT also gave an interview to the Nepali Times to try and reach as wide an audience as possible.

Dr Maxine Caws was also interviewed by News-Medical about her career as a TB researcher.
